what is an inverter?

Inverters convert DC voltage to AC voltage and can be used to power electronic and electrical equipment rated for AC mains voltage. The inverter does not generate electricity; the power is provided by DC power. In most cases, the input DC voltage is usually lower, while the output AC voltage is equal to the grid supply voltage of 120 volts or 240 volts, depending on the country.

What are the application scenarios of inverters?

Simply put, the inverter provides AC power when there is no outlet available or plugged into an outlet that does not match the electrical equipment. Inverters can be used in cars, trucks, RVs or boats, on construction sites, in ambulance or EMS vehicles, in campsites or in mobile medical vehicles in hospitals. An inverter or inverter/charger can provide power to your home during a power outage to keep other electrical consumers like refrigerators, freezers, and sump pumps running. Inverters also play an important role in renewable energy systems.
